This question comes up all the time, and if you've followed my content, you know the golden rule of weight loss: a calorie deficit. That means if you eat fewer calories than you burn, you'll lose weight – simple as that.
So, where does the idea come from that eating late makes you gain weight?
Some people lose weight by setting an early cut-off time, like stopping eating after 5:00 p.m. But here's why it works: by cutting off eating in the evening, they naturally consume fewer calories, creating that all-important calorie deficit.
To be clear: it's not the timing but the total calories you eat in a 24-hour period that matters. You could eat at 11:00 p.m. and still lose weight, as long as you're in a calorie deficit.
Focus on burning more than you consume, and you'll see the results – regardless of the time of day you eat.
